President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Nigeria’s security forces following the successful rescue of 21 Nigerians, including 15 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, who were abducted in Kogi State.

The victims, comprising eight males and 13 females, were rescued from a kidnappers’ hideout in the forests of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State during a coordinated Search and Rescue operation.

The operation involved personnel from the Nigerian military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS) and local vigilantes, who worked together to locate and safely rescue the victims.

President Tinubu expressed his delight over the development and commended the security forces for their courage, dedication and commitment to bringing the abductees home safely.

The President also reassured Nigerians that the security of citizens remains a top priority of his administration. He said his government remains committed to ensuring that Nigerians can travel across the country without fear.

While the victims have been rescued, security forces are still pursuing the kidnappers. President Tinubu stated that those responsible for the crime, including anyone who assisted them, would face the full weight of the law.

This successful operation is a major relief for the families of the 21 victims, who endured days of uncertainty and anxiety. The rescued individuals are currently receiving medical attention before being reunited with their loved ones.

Special appreciation must go to the brave men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, DSS and local vigilantes who participated in the rescue operation.

Their courage, teamwork and determination demonstrate the sacrifices Nigeria’s security personnel continue to make to protect citizens and communities.

To every soldier, police officer, DSS operative and local security personnel involved: thank you for your service and for putting your lives on the line to bring innocent Nigerians back home.

The rescue of these 21 Nigerians is not only a victory for their families but also a reminder that the fight against kidnapping and criminality must continue until Nigerians can live and travel freely without fear.

Under President Tinubu, the Federal Government says the protection of lives and property remains a key priority, with security agencies being urged to sustain the pressure on criminal elements across the country.

We commend our security forces for this successful operation and pray for their continued safety as they serve and protect Nigeria.

God bless the men and women of Nigeria’s security and intelligence agencies.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 🇳🇬
